The Lowlands are dotted with settlements, the cyclic rain ideal for the longer farming and herding seasons, and more importantly for their crafting. Populated heavily by the humans and gnomes of Au’Ladon, there is rarely a dull moment.
Cities & villages:
Hesperithil, hub of Au’Ladon. It is both home and waypoint for many travelers, crafters, dubious folks and naive alike.
Silver Fen births some of the best crafters in the land, people of all sorts seeking out the smithing masters.
Dragonhold, the seat of human nobility, also houses the finest soldiers in the world (or so they boast).
Lakemeet is home to the tanners and textile artists, taking advantage of their proximity to the Meadows and Analor to provide the wool and leather for their artistry.
Notable people & things:
The Siren’s Cup: The most largest of Hesperithil’s notorious pubs, The Siren’s Cup is frequented by adventurers, travelers, and those that run wild in the city’s underbelly. The barkeep has a policy of no more than three brawls a night, and has only ever enforced it once. Anything can be purchased here, or… “acquired.”
The Brilliant Blossom: A small but treasured establishment along the northern side of Hesperithil. Flowers cover most every surface. This is a place to impress one’s clients or hires, or a desired romantic partner. And for those that know, it also is the best source of information in the entirety of the Lowlands.
Weaver’s Inn: Lakemeet’s only tavern, locals and travelers alike unwind here. As night closes in, one can find most of the villagers inside, discussing their crafts over the hearty stew, the walls lined with the intricately woven tapestries Lakemeet is famous for.
Baraut: The half-elf owner of the Brilliant Blossom, his face impossible to read beyond the constant benevolent smile. His wheeled chair is silent and aura so welcoming that people often barely notice the man as they share their tales, try desperately to impress their dates, or find themselves unloading their secrets to his sympathetic brown eyes.
Danimra and Peruun Ebondaugh: Nigh inseparable for their early years, the human twin children of Raven Ebondaugh are vastly different. Danimra is more stoic, even as a child, taking her martial and civil training very seriously as she is groomed to be Dragonhold’s next ruler. While her brother Peruun dwarves her in height, no one logical would fear his blade after seeing his sister’s black hair blurring across the training ground. Peruun recently indulged his desire for travel and adventure, after his parent’s continued failed attempts to have their son learn any of the traditional Ebondaugh martials arts. While he may not be as good with his fists as his sister, he is adept with a bow, and with his wit. His easy smirk draws one’s eye to his flawless brown skin and the rare Ebondaugh grey eyes framed by his artfully disheveled black hair.
Ferlis Meron: Eldest son of House Meron, the rumours that circle him are dark indeed. While his mother, head of their House, seems blithely unaware of the tales that circulate her heir, it is the whispered secret amongst the minor human noble houses. The shorter than average stature and auburn hair gives away the dwarven blood mixed into his lineage. His handsome face and distinguished position overpowers the terrible rumours for some though, leading them to recall the cheerful, if rambunctious, lad he once was.
